Benjamin Gilmour is an author and filmmaker and musician- and his day job is as a paramedic.

‘ The Gap ‘ is his fifth book and covers just one small period in his career as a paramedic. Paramedics are first responders to medical emergencies and work under incredible stress- so it is not surprising that the coping mechanism is humour and this account of one horrendous Christmas period is full of  Benjamin and his co medic John seeing the humour in their situations.  In his yearly break Benjamin makes films- in war zones!
